Kornél Mundruczó presents «Caché» (2005) / Directed by Michael Haneke

Introductory talk with
Moderation

Kornél Mundruczó brings Verdi’s Otello, based on Shakespeare’s play, to the Deutsche Oper – a production that takes the audience directly into the inner world of a man consumed by jealousy and guilt. His film selection: Michael Haneke’s Caché. What is repressed does not disappear.

Popular French TV host Georges Laurent receives anonymous, disturbing drawings and secretly recorded videos showing him and his family. As his marriage plunges into a deep crisis and the recordings become increasingly explosive and personal, Georges desperately tries to find out who is behind them – after all, the sender seems to have known him for a long time.
